Traditional night splints place the user's foot in a 90° position and require them to tolerate this aggressive stretch for the entire night. This often results in removal or discontinued use as the user becomes uncomfortable maintaining this position. Freedom of Movement Rather than using a fixed shell, the D2 Night Splint uses a pivoting dorsal shell and dynamic dord to help gently stretch the plantar fascia and calf musculature. The pivoting shell and dynamic cord allows some normal plantarflexion of the foot during sleep, and returns foot to a dorsiflexed position when the muscles relax. This freedom of movement is the key to comfort and compliance. Quick, Easy Adjustment In seconds, patients can adjust the amount of stretch to ensure a comfort level that allows all-night wear. Multiple cord hooks permit easy adjustment of cord tension, allowing a more gradual stretch and progression as tolerance increases. Cord hooks are numbered, allowing patient to easily gauge progress.
